The 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe is an ideal blend of safety and style. The Santa Fe debuted in the 2001 model year as Hyundai’s first SUV, and now is a leading mid-size crossover. Characterized by intelligent safety innovations, comfortable and versatile interior space, and stylish, sporty details and features, the 2010 Santa Fe is one of the freshest, most driver-friendly crossovers on the road.

As a mid-size crossover SUV, the 2010 Santa Fe combines everything you love about an SUV (space, style, versatility, and capability) with the driving ease, agility, and manageable dimensions of a sedan. Of Hyundai’s two mid-size crossovers, the Santa Fe is the smaller.

Safety

Safety is one of the most important aspects of any vehicle, but this even more true for SUVs, which often have off-road capability and are particularly popular with. In 2009, the Santa Fe was listed as one of the most affordable vehicles to insure; insurance rates reflect the safety of a vehicle, and the Santa Fe’s safety features and crash test ratings make it one of the safest vehicles on the road.

The 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe employs safety on three different levels. First is the unibody structure of the vehicle itself. Composed of high grade steel, the Santa Fe’s internal structure includes side-impact door beams and strategically situated crumple zones to protect passengers from every direction.

Then, Hyundai equips the Santa Fe with a number of features designed to help you avoid accidents in the first place. The four-wheel-disc antilock brakes are a huge part of this: they feature brake assist (to help apply extra brake force when it matters most). The Santa Fe also features Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control, which not only sense when you start to lose control of the vehicle, but immediately and dynamically distribute power and brake force as-needed to each wheel independently, helping you gain control of the vehicle and avoid a dangerous situation.

Should an accident occur, the 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe is equipped with six standard airbags (these include side curtain airbags for all seating positions, to protect the head from side impacts). Active front head restraints work to protect you from whiplash by moving forward and up (this prevents your neck from overextending) if the vehicle is struck from behind. And front seatbelt pretensioners and occupancy sensors each do their part to help protect you and your most precious cargo when it matters most.

What’s Inside

With peace of mind secure, you’re free to enjoy the inside of the 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe, which is where you really get to know a vehicle. The 2010 Santa Fe seats five people and boasts generous and versatile cargo space. With three different available trims (with standard and optional features for each), it’s not hard to build a Santa Fe that’s equipped just the way you like it: sunroof, heated seats, navigation system, rear-view camera, and DVD entertainment are all at your fingertips. And with a choice between a turbo I-4 and V-6 engines, and between 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission, you are looking at a vehicle that doesn’t just look good, but feels good to drive.

Safe, secure, versatile, and built with real drivers (and their passengers) in mind, the 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe is exactly what a crossover SUV should be.
