The 2010 Hyundai Accent brings fuel economy and driver friendliness into a whole new realm. Fuel Economy

As a certified Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (or ULEV), the Accent is very well known for its fuel efficiency—and with good reason. The 2010 model is rated for 27-28 miles per gallon in the city and 34-36 on the highway by the Environmental Protection Agency. That gas mileage is due to a number of factors. An efficient 110 horsepower I-4 engine uses Continuously Variable Valve Timing to deliver optimum performance and minimum fuel burn at all speeds.

One of the trim levels, known as “Accent Blue,” delivers all of the features specifically designed to minimize fuel economy, so if that is your top priority (along with safety and space, of course), Accent Blue is the particular trim you should look for.

All 2010 Accents with automatic transmission are equipped with an Eco Indicator, which provides immediate feedback on the level of fuel efficiency you are achieving with your current driving. Manual transmission options also have a shifting indicator to suggest when to shift gears for optimum fuel economy, so no matter how you drive, the Accent works with you to keep your fuel costs down whenever possible, on top of having low mpg estimates to begin with.

Space

The 2010 Hyundai Accent is a compact car that doesn’t feel so compact on the inside. The backseat will surprise you in the leg and head room it provides as a compact car. All models, including both the sedan and hatchback options, feature a 60/40 split folding rear seat, so that you can expand on the rear cargo or trunk space whenever you need to, and however much you need to, then switch back easily when more passengers join you.

Most people want a car that isn’t just practical, but enjoyable as well. The 2010 Hyundai Accent certainly meets that criteria. Even the base Blue trim offers options for an easy upgrade to most of the features you expect in a car. Standard on all other models, you’ll find full power windows, doors, mirrors (which are also heated), and keyless entry.

Available options include CD audio with a USB port and a jack to quickly hook your portable MP3 player right into the car’s audio system. Other features include a power sunroof and a whole lot more.

Safety

The 2010 Accent  comes standard with six airbags (including side curtain airbags in both front and back), front seat belt pretensioners. And unlike many compact cars, the Accent does have available four-wheel disc antilock brakes in almost every trim.
